Why I want to use this makeup technique?
I want to use this stage makeup technique because it relates really well with my trailer and will add a more realistic effect to the final outcome, we plan on using it to do the pentagon on the final characters neck as this is the idea we have in mind. From watching this video first, I now have a better understanding what to do when it comes to my trailer. These cuts will help me to create a more dramatic look as appose to just drawing it on. This will be used on the character that plays the teacher in my trailer and potentially an object too. |
why I want to use this makeup technique?
This tutorial helped me as it gave me more of idea of how to make the cuts more gruesome and fleshy as you can see there is a significant difference between the first tutorial I looked at and this one, this is because these cuts are going to be body wounds so they have to be more bloody and exaggerated rather than subtle and neater. I plan on using this all over the main characters body as she endures pain from many incidents. Once again these cuts will be used on the teacher and possibly a few of the children. |

Why I want to use this makeup technique?
As you can see the other two tutorials are both on the body however this one is on the face, I liked this tutorial as it didn't just show me one way of doing the makeup but gave me three separate options in case I wanted to use different equipment, which opened it up to a larger amount of viewers. I chose to take my inspiration from this one as I might have ideas of doing wounds on the face and I wanted to make sure a different technique wasn't, I also like the way the blood is dripping down her face showing that the wound is still very fresh. This will probably be used on one of the pupils. |
Why I want to use this makeup technique?
This is the final tutorial I chose as i really liked the idea of the pale face, it makes the blood stand out more and helps the wound to appear more fleshy and real, I also like the bruised under eye as it gives a more death like look and makes the character look tired. I also like the way they covered half the lip with blood, as it looks more frightening and angry. The main idea i would take from this tutorial is the pale face because it adds a better effect. This would be used on my main character (The teacher) as I want her to look like shes been through a lot and is drained and this will do the job. |

Trailer Analysis
Why I chose this trailer?
I chose this trailer because I like the way they done the makeup on the protagonist, you will know from one of my makeup tutorial choices that I wanted to create a washed out look with dark stressed eyes and this film have achieved that look very well, another nice effect they added was making veins appear through her skin. Its still apparent that this is a human but they look like they're not from this word at the same time. I also noticed that the skin tone brings the eyes out more, making her stare more intense. If I was to use this in my trailer I would have it close to the end to make it look like she been through a lot.
